  • The Lady Rebel Softball team opened district play last night with a 12-3 win in Pineville.  The offense was led by Parker Burford with her first varsity grand slam and additional hits by Macy Funderburk, Karli Sellers, Aubrey Bennett, Allie Chrislip, and Addison Sullivan. The Rebel Art Club will be face-painting at the St. Patrick's Day Bicycle Parade and Festival this Saturday from 10am-1pm. Members can sign up for one of three shifts on our Google Classroom page by commenting on the most recent stream announcement. We still need to fill a couple of spots on shifts A & B.

  • Seniors: Just a friendly reminder that the deadline to register for the April ACT is this Friday, March 10th! This April ACT is our Seniors' last opportunity to improve their scores & to qualify for full TOPS Scholarship Awards. So please register today. And remember that if you qualify for ACT Fee Waivers, those can be picked up in the Guidance Office.

  • Attention all FFA students who sold strawberries.... strawberries will be delivered today to the welding shop in the Ag building (Wing 8). You must pick up your order today, as we do not have the ability to store any strawberries and they will ruin overnight without refrigeration. Mr. Bratton will be at the welding shop until 5 or until all orders are picked up. If there is an issue, please contact any of the Ag.  teachers.

  • The Apple test will be offered on Tuesday, March 21st. If you know another language, wish to test out of world language classes, and want to qualify for the Louisiana Seal of Biliteracy, this is the test for you. See Mrs. Ballance in room 2207 to sign up or to get more information. The cost of the test is $20.

  • Juniors and Seniors: Juniors and Seniors, remember that prom tickets go on sale next week during both lunch shifts in wing 3.  You must have the completed forms to purchase a ticket.   If your date attends another high school the administrator's verification form must be faxed to Mrs Jones before you can purchase tickets.  Again, tickets are limited so be ready to buy yours next week.

  • Any student who is wanting to take a dual enrollment class next year and has AT LEAST a 2.5 may now pick up a packet. Please note that if the ACT requirement is not met, a teacher/counselor recommendation is required. These recommendations will be taken care of by the WMHS faculty. These courses are a great way to start earning college credit! However, if you struggle with a subject, you do not need to not take that same subject as dual enrollment. The good news is that there are a variety of class offerings, and the classes are for little to no cost to the student. Additionally, students who do take DE classes do not have to pass an end of the year test to earn college credit. These college credits are transferable to all in state public universities, a number of out of state public universities, and some private universities. The following teachers have packets available in their room: Mrs. Anders, Mr. Aswell, Mrs. Eason, Mrs. Etzel, Mrs. Garvin, Mrs. Gulde, Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Knox, Mrs. Rawls, and Mrs. Ashley Walker. The deadline for the packet is Wednesday, April 5. Please see Mrs. Hunt or email her about any questions concerning dual enrollment.
